Today, on March 30, the Republic of Estonia issued a total of EUR 342 million worth of Treasury bills – EUR 207 million of 6-month and EUR 135 million of 12-month T-bills. T-bills are sold via an auction with competitive bidding and are aimed at institutional investors only. The bills were issued to refinance maturing T-bills.

The average yield to maturity of the issued 6-month and 12-month T-bills was 2.439% and 2.696%, respectively.

These T-bills were issued within the framework of the T-bill program approved by the Minister of Finance in 2020. The framework allows for repeated issuance of T-bills with maturities of up to 12 months. The interest rate depends on the market conditions at the time of issuance.

T-bill issues are carried out to manage the cash flows of the state.
